It was a double boon for the club as the junior competition also launched over the weekend.
Playing at home, the senior Bluedogs got off to a strong start from the crease.
Openers Tom Hammond and Dylan Cook put on nearly 40 runs between them.
Cook was the first to fall when he was caught by Nick Mason.
A quick duck put the visitors in a confident position, but playing out of fourth Tim Wilson set the record straight.
Wilson slogged 40 runs and had the home side past 100 runs when he was dismissed.
Jake Taylor and Ian McBain also provided depth for the batting order at the tail end.
Taylor notched up 16, while McBain was dismissed on 39 for the Bluedogs to total 164 runs.
The final wickets fell in the last over.
Robert Brown had been the most damaging with the ball to claim four wickets for the visiting Pirates.
The opening stand by the Pirates was dismissed cheaply by the Bluedogs bowling line-up, but the club did have to battle through a middle order stand.
Geordie McEvoy was caught for just nine runs, while Mason Moore added 18.
However, it was Brown’s 46 that nearly got the Pirates back in the hunt.
Matt Corbett clocked up 19 runs, but the tail succumbed quickly to fall short of the target.
A strong performance by the home side’s bowling attack included two outs for singles and a duck.
Tom Hammond repaid the favour in the bowling to secure four wickets for the Pambula roster.
This weekend the Bluedogs will play the Bega-Angledale Bulls at Bega’s George Griffin Oval.
The match will run on Saturday from 1pm.
The club’s under 14s also got a run on the weekend, but suffered a loss to the Merimbula Knights.
The under 12s and under 10s grades start this weekend.
