Recently the Bega Library purchased a large variety of Lego bricks but due to their popularity there are not enough to go around the four libraries in the shire.
Children’s Librarian, Anne Moore said excited children are sometimes seen waiting in line to play with Lego at their nearest branch.
“Playing with Lego bricks not only encourages imagination and creativity, but it also helps with maths, science and problem solving skills,” she said.
“The most obvious benefit of building with Lego is the development of fine motor skills while the child is playing.
“To support this creative activity we are asking for donations of Lego sets that you may no longer need so other children can benefit.”
Lego donations big and small can be dropped off at any library in the Bega Valley Shire.
