A Roads and Maritime Services spokesperson confirmed that no court attendance notices had been issued to the company.
Russell Fitzpatrick, of Bobbin Transport said: “This action justifies Bobbin Transport’s media release following the event. Bobbin Transport has an extensive fatigue management process in place that ensures its drivers operate within the laws relating to fatigue and the safety of the general public.”
At the time of the RMS investigation, managing director of Bobbin Transport, Neville Bobbin issued a strongly worded statement maintaining that the company operated within the law.
Mr Bobbin said: “Our fleet of 30 trucks and 50 trailers were the subject of an intensive, on-the-spot police and drug dog search for four hours. Not one drug or drug-related item was found. No drugs were found in any truck or in any part of the company’s operations.”
At the time Mr Bobbin said that a long list of minor compliance issues were fixed, well within the three-day compliance period given by RMS.
Mr Fitzpatrick added: We are happy to co-operate with the RMS at any time to ensure that our company and its employees always operate within the regulations that are in place.”
