Council's project services manager, Daniel Djikic said the work covers a section of about 150 metres north of the current entrance to Merimbula Airport.
"The works involve road pavement renewal, and the creation and widening of a new intersection that will lead into the general aviation precinct at the airport, which is currently under construction," Mr Djikic said.
"Motorists will experience traffic delays on Arthur Kaine Drive during this period and a 40 km/hour speed limit.
"The current traffic controls in place will change after Anzac Day when we introduce temporary traffic lights and single lane traffic for a period of up to eight weeks," he said.
"Access to Merimbula Airport will remain unchanged."
