President of the Merimbula-Imlay Historical Society, Don Bretherton said the money would be put towards getting a catalogue system in place at the museum.
Morgans Merimbula has been donating to the museum for three years, Mr Bretherton said but this was the largest amount.
"It was most welcome as we have been particularly financially stressed due to not having been open throughout COVID," Mr Bretherton said.
The group has received money from the Bendigo Bank which has allowed them to put a cashless system in place and also purchase a laptop and smart TV. A $5000 grant from Restart NSW has been used for dehumidifiers, which run 24 hours a day, rents and expenses.
On Saturday members organised a car boot sale of pre-owned books, jewellery and craft at the museum raising $100.
