The program, called 'Mind Matters' airs on 97.5 Sapphire FM at 3-5pm on Monday afternoons.
Rik said the focus is very much on mental health and with station manager Greg Bordas, he has created a show to help those who are suffering due to the current climate.
He said the program will offer "proven mental health solutions, feature live coaching, and uplifting themes".
He has already talked about anxiety in the first of his shows and discussed the strategies that can help.
"I got a lot of positive responses afterwards with people saying they had learned so much," Rik said after the first show.
"I've been working with people with anxiety and depression for a long time but I know I have to build trust with my (radio) audience," he said.
"I really want to help our area; people are suffering through COVID. I'd like to spur a different way of thinking in the community, where we start to think about what is possible, a more upbeat way," Rik said.
"Much of your belief system is created when you are quite young and so it is quite naive. This is an opportunity to think in a different way," he said.
On Monday, October 18 Rik will focus on confidence and will be joined by Louise Bedford, a behavioural finance expert with degrees in psychology and business.
"Louise has been teaching people how to trade stocks and shares and have the mindset for handling finance," Rik said.
Mind Matters will run each Monday on 97.5 Sapphire FM from 3 pm to 5 pm and is streamed via https://sapphirefm.org/
