The association met this week to discuss options around the start to the cricket season, a spokesman said, after clubs were given internal advice from Cricket NSW.
Despite lockdowns lifting in the Bega Valley last week, community sport is still disallowed under current NSW Health Orders, but the spokesman said based on advice from NSW Cricket and media reporting, the association have earmarked November 13 as the start date for the 2021/22 season.
This is based on reporting that community sport can resume once NSW reaches an 80 per cent double vaccinated threshold in eligible adults.
Cricket NSW circulated an email, obtained by Australian Community Media, suggesting a 'jab and play' strategy could be introduced as the sport attempts to return amid the global pandemic.
"While there is understandingly a lack of clarity at this time from the NSW government around a return to community sport, CNSW believes it is our responsibility to assist in making a decision given that it is highly likely that a return to sport will not be without restrictions," the email from Cricket NSW read.
"CNSW believes it is responsible to provide a safe playing environment for our cricketers and, to this end, everyone who participates in cricket and can be vaccinated, is vaccinated.
"We respect people's opinions, but we believe it's a responsibility on us to provide a safe playing environment for all of our cricketers, match officials and volunteers, wherever they may be.
"Ultimately the decision may be out of our hands but it's safe to assume there will be a 'jab and play' strategy."
In an exciting development the season the Club Bega A Grade Competition will commence with a Twenty20 Competition that will run until Christmas.
This will be the first senior T20 play to go ahead in a number of years with the competition running solely on one-dayers recently.
The spokesman said more details on the structure of the T20 competition and the post Christmas limited overs competition will be released closer to the start date.
The Campbell Petroleum B grade competition will also start on November 13, though the format will be confirmed at the next meeting.
Junior Cricket will commence on November 20 with Under 11, Under 13 and Under 15s competitions.
The FSCCA Women's competition will commence after Christmas.
"At the meeting all club delegates also committed to ensuring any COVID Safe requirements set out by NSW Health and Cricket NSW will be followed," the spokesman said.
Most club's are now taking registrations at www.playcricket.com.au.
