UPDATED: Merimbula, Tura venues of concern following confirmation of Bega Valley COVID-19 cases

A list of venues of concern has been released following the confirmation of two positive COVID-19 cases in Merimbula overnight.

The source of the Merimbula cases is still under investigation but contact tracers have already been kept busy Thursday.

SNSWLHD's Public Health Unit (PHU) is working with a number of venues to inform close contacts of infectious cases and provide rapid swabbing where appropriate.

Anyone who attended the following venues at the time listed is a casual contact and must immediately get tested and isolate until a negative result is received:

Cranky's Cafe, 33 Ocean Drive, Tuesday 31 August, 9.50am to 10.15am

Main Street Medical Centre - Vaccination clinic only, 6/93 Main Street, Friday 3 September 1.15-2.30pm

The Public Health Unit is working with Merimbula Medical Centre to identify close and casual contacts from September 7,r between 10.30-11.30am; as well as with Main Street Medical Centre to identify casual contacts at the vaccination clinic only on September 3, 1.30-2.30pm.

These sites are not listed as venues of concern for those times as all visitors and staff are known and contactable.

If additional venues are identified through further contact tracing these will be announced as soon as they are known.

Anyone who checked in to a venue of concern during the times listed, using the Service NSW QR app, will be notified by SMS from NSW Health as soon as possible over the next 24 hours

Everyone in the district should be alert for any symptoms that could signal COVID-19, including headache, nausea, sore throat, runny nose, cough, loss of smell or taste, or fever. If symptoms appear, people must isolate and get tested immediately, and remain isolated until a negative result is received.

A free, pop up, drive-through COVID-19 testing clinic is open daily at Club Sapphire Merimbula, 8am until 4pm until Sunday 12 September.
