As of Wednesday, the club had received more than 140 nominations, including over 30 in one race alone, ahead of the weekend.
Club secretary-manager Rob Tweedie said it was an inspiring figure, which should translate to strong fields as runners look to get out on a drier circuit following months of wet-course racing.
"Yeah, it's well above what we would normally attract, there has just been some good lead-in races at Moruya so there is some good horses in work at the moment," Mr Tweedie said.
"We've seen a lot of wet tracks this year, and wer'e starting to dry out a little bit here, it's still soft, but not heavy so there are a lot of runners who have missed out looking for somewhere to go."
Mr Tweedie said there was some "strength in numbers" from the regular trainers with a good contingent of Canberra, Moruya, Goulburn and Kembla Grange stables looking to get on the cards.
There will be few favourites with a broad spread of entries, but Mr Tweedie said an early call could be Jarrett as one to watch for.
"He's a horse that really loves this track, he's had nine starts here for six wins and a second," he said.
"He's had two runs in from a spell and steps up to the 1600 metres, if he runs he likes the soft-ish track and I'd keep an eye on him."
Following rule guidelines from Racing NSW, masks will be required for the day, with punters not allowed to wear fabric masks.
Racegoers will require a medical style mask or an N95 mask, but Mr Tweedie said the club had secured a supply of medical masks that will be available at the gate.
"Masks will need to be worn at the venue, but once you're seated and eating or drinking you may remove your mask," Mr Tweedie said.
"We've secured a supply that we'll have at the gate for anyone who doesn't have a medical mask with them."
The club will be adhering to NSW's updated social distancing requirements of one person per four square metres, but Mr Tweedie said there is still plenty of room to head along and enjoy the day.
Gates will open at noon on Sunday for the Eden Cup.
Free buses will run to and from the club with pick up and drop off times and locations at the website www.sapphirecoastturfclub.com.au.
