And in the later first grade men's game the Tigers got the benefits of a 1-1 draw with the Bemboka Braves following a contentious goal in the opening half.
In the women's clash the Tigers had a dominance in possession early in the piece, while the Stingrays poised some fantastic defence to turn away repeated attacking raids.
it was late in the first half when the Tigers broke the dam when coach Nat Adams finished off a neat cross by Sam Johnson, who had a surging run up the right wing to break loose of the rallying defenders.
It wasn't long for the Stingrays to reply and the scores looked to be locked up neatly at one apiece by half time.
However, Kirsty McPaul emerged as a highlight for the Tigers in the second half, scoring two goals - the first off a neat header from a corner kick option.
The second came through a superb direct free kick option to the left of the Stingrays' goalbox where she sent the ball curling high into the corner of the net.
Wolumla's fourth came through Chloe Grant who had a good outing at striker, linking up well with Emma Kettle.
It was a vastly more cut and clear result in the women's than the first clash that kicked off at 3pm at the Wolumla Rec Ground on Sunday.
Bemboka had peppered options on goal early in the piece, but found Wolumla's backline waiting with Blake Rosseland making some solid saves at keeper.
It was actually Wolumla who scored first after getting a kick deep into Bemboka territory, the defending team were confident a Tigers player had hit the ball with his hand and were protesting for the call when the Tigers pressed the attack and fired a neat volley into the net.
The Braves got their own back later in the piece with a set option from a corner kick giving them the goal when 'Trout' flew a neat header into the net.
The Braves tried to replicate the result a few more times later in play, but couldn't conjure the same result.
The Tigers nearly caused the upset late in the second half when Jose broke loose, but his strike landed neatly at the keepers' feet.
He didn't make the same mistake a second time with a better boot screaming into the crossbar to miss the net by just centimetres after slipping past the keepers' fingertips.
However, the Braves had full control of the play by the finishing minutes, but couldn't finish to take the win.
In other matches, Tathra's first grade went down to the Penguins 3-1, while Bemboka's reserve grade had a 1-0 result over the Pambula club.
The competition heads to round 11 next Sunday.
