The session, running from 1-5pm, will include presentations on the role and responsibilities of a local government councillor, as well as how to access the NSW Electoral Commission requirements for nominating.
It will also feature a range of guest speakers and a Q&A session, followed by breakout time during which potential candidates will be able to speak to presenters directly.

"Our speakers have a wealth of knowledge and experience about being a councillor and can answer any questions you have about work-life balance, juggling family and personal commitments, and the impact you can have as a councillor."
Guest speakers for the session are:
Iliada Bolton, BVSC director of business and governance - Overview of the role of a councillor
Cr Rowena Abbey from Yass Valley - Women in local government
