The state Agriculture and Environment Committee makes this selection to highlight the unique wildlife and help educate members and the community on ways to protect species of plants and animals. This year the possum has been the selected fauna for education.
Recently members of the Pambula - Merimbula branch had a most enjoyable and informative morning at Potoroo Palace.
Shannon, a staff member, shared interesting facts about various species of possums. She described differences and habitats of the brushtail and ringtail possums and the feathertail and sugar gliders. Members also met baby Quince, a rescued seven month old brushtail possum.
The next meeting of the Pambula - Merimbula branch of the CWA will be held on Friday, June 18, commencing at 9.30am, in the CWA Hall, 24 Toalla Street, Pambula.
