The urban farm provides a chance for people in the community to get their hands in the earth and volunteer a few hours a week in exchange for taking fresh seasonal produce home.
"Just that satisfaction of growing your own food I think is really important and leaving the worries behind," Farm on the Green president Sally Mauragis said.
Farm on the Green - previously known as From Little Things Parklands - is located on the old bowling greens at Cub Sapphire in Merimbula.
It has gradually transformed over the years since it first started in 2017 and now has around 50 garden beds.
Ms Mauragis said they need more volunteers, since they only have around 12 active members helping out at the moment.
Ms Mauragis said she encouraged anyone interested to get involved, even if they can only do a little bit each week.
"Even if someone can offer two hours a week, that's great because it all helps."
She said there were many benefits from getting involved, which include taking fresh produce home with you every week, getting some Vitamin D and socialising with other like-minded people.
Ms Mauragis said they're looking for members to help pick and move produce, as well as weeding and planting.
Their philosophy at the garden is that many hands make light work.
"We're looking for members to help with manual labor, we need more guys to bring wheelbarrows of mulch, compost and cardboard."
Every Sunday a group of the volunteers harvest produce and fill the produce boxes that are then sold at the farm gate sales the same morning.
The produce boxes are filled with an assortment of seasonal herbicide- and pesticide-free vegetables that can be ordered on the group's website.
Farm on the Green aims to enhance eco-tourism and build urban food security within the local area.
"We make our own soil, so everything is circled through and we do our own composting," Ms Mauragis said.
People interested in joining up can either email info@farmonthegreen.org.au or phone 0490 511 898.
Alternatively you can visit the farm on Sunday mornings when most of the members are harvesting and have a chat to Ms Mauragis.
