* The NSW-Victoria border is fully open for the first time in more than four months and both states have again recorded no new local COVID-19 cases.

* South Australia has reported one new case linked to the cluster that sparked a short-lived statewide lockdown. It takes the total cases linked to the cluster to 27.

* NSW Health has genomically linked five virus cases in Moss Vale to a pre-existing cluster, meaning NSW has not recorded a COVID-19 case with an unknown source since October 24, or 30 days ago.

* Meanwhile QR codes have been made compulsory for thousands of NSW businesses, with written record-keeping no longer acceptable for hospitality venues, corporate functions, weddings and funerals.

* Tasmania has allowed some South Australians to leave enforced quarantine but is keeping its border closed to the mainland state. It had ordered all SA arrivals dating back to November 7 to isolate but any South Australians who arrived before November 16 are now allowed to leave quarantine.

* The Victorian government has announced it will offer some casual workers up to five days' sick leave as part of a two-year trial. The scheme will target casualised sectors where the virus has spread, including aged care, cleaning, hospitality and security.

* A bevy of restrictions have been lifted for Victorians on Monday, with masks no-longer compulsory in some settings, 15 home visitors per day allowed and public gatherings permitted to include up to 50 people.

* Meanwhile, Federal Opposition Leader Anthony Albanese has praised Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk for "doing a great job" after NSW again criticised the northern state's strict border measures.

* There were 14 new cases recorded in Australia - five in NSW, five in Western Australia, three in Queensland and one in South Australia. All except the one in SA, were diagnosed in hotel quarantine.

* The national death toll is 907: Victoria 819, NSW 55, Tasmania 13, WA 9, Queensland 6, SA 4, ACT 3. (Two Queensland residents who died in NSW have been included in the official tolls of both states).
