A high-profile and experienced artist has joined the ranks of Fling Physical Theatre.

Anton is Fling's new dance development officer and will create a range of new opportunities for the community to get dancing across the Bega Valley region.

"From a multitude of applications, high profile artist Anton stood out and brings a wealth of experience and knowledge as a performer, choreographer, project director, rehearsal director and dance teacher," Fling's co-artistic director Rob McCredie said.

Most recently Anton worked as rehearsal director with Bangarra Dance Theatre.

As a performer he has worked with Dance North, Australian Dance Theatre, Legs On The Wall, TASDANCE, Shaun Parker Company, Sydney Theatre Company, and Opera Australia, and he has made commissioned dance works for arts festivals, dance companies, art centres, live commercial TV events, university institutions and youth companies.

As dance development officer, Anton will become one of the key trainers for Fling's youth companies and community classes, while also seeking new opportunities for outreach programs and sponsorship within the region.

"I feel very lucky to be in the glorious Bega Valley with Fling Physical Theatre and I look forward to empowering young emerging dance artists whilst enjoying the exceptional nature of the Sapphire Coast," he said.
