The position of mayor is currently held by Councillor Sharon Tapscott, who took over the role earlier this year after her predecessor Cr Kristy McBain entered the Eden-Monaro byelection.
The new mayor and deputy would hold the position until September 2021, which is when the next local government elections will be held as they were delayed this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
