Entries for the Festival have come in from regional areas around Australia, from Central Queensland to the Mid North Coast of NSW, South East NSW, Barwon South in West Victoria, the Eyre Peninsula in South Australia and the ACT.
The festival is thrilled to have such diverse voices telling their regional stories. Audiences will be treated to short films in a variety of genres including drama, comedy, documentary, mockumentary, thriller, horror, animation and live action.
The festival is being run by Far South Film, an organisation of professional and emerging filmmakers based in South East NSW. Their intention is to bring the voice of regional filmmakers to the screen, to tell their stories and share their perspectives. Each region of Australia is unique and has important local voices. The festival will shed a light on these untold stories.
Viewers will be able to watch their selection on demand. Awards will be announced live online and on the festival website on the evening. Live Q&A sessions with filmmakers will also be held during the festival.
The festival is offering a "pay what you can" model for ticket pricing, making it affordable for everyone to join in and enjoy films from all over Australia.
