Independent weather forecaster Dennis Luke has said the Far South Coast should prepare for high winds, plenty of rain and big seas until about Tuesday lunchtime.
"You have some horrendous weather coming and it will be over the course of about 36 hours," Mr Luke told ACM on Sunday afternoon.
"Expect it to start tonight and it will go through until the middle of the day on Tuesday."
He said it was more of what we experienced recently.
"It will start to come through on Sunday evening and last about 36 hours," he said.
"It will really intensify on Monday," Mr Luke said.
The developing east coast low could see winds of 40-45 knots (85km/hr), Mr Luke said with conditions not expected to abate until Tuesday afternoon.
The conditions could impact the coastline further particularly at Mitchies Jetty and Main Beach, Merimbula which have both seen dramatic shifts in sand and coastal erosion affecting the channel from Merimbula Lake across the bar.
