Thankfully the Wolumla brigade has been announced as one of the first recipients of IMB Bank's Community Foundation 2020 round of funding.
The grant has enabled them to purchase a much-needed quick fill pump, assisting the brigade to better contain fires by being able to quickly fill tankers from large water sources.
The pump can fill a 3000L fire truck in around three minutes!
"This is not the first time we have received funding from IMB Bank Community Foundation, said brigade deputy captain Jim Eberbach. Previous grants have resulted in a new generator and handheld radios for the team of volunteers.
"We are extremely grateful for the ongoing support it has given us, without it we would find it difficult to meet this community need."
This year the IMB Bank Community Foundation will see $600,000 awarded to local charities and grassroots community groups throughout NSW and the ACT.
IMB Bank CEO Robert Ryan is proud the ICF has been able to adapt to the current climate, bringing forward the allocation of funds to projects with an urgent need.
