Merimbula engineer Ian Battersby said he believed there has been a power surge around 2.30am which had "taken out" the receiver at Eden.
The satellite signal comes into Eden which is then transmitted on to Bega and back to Merimbula but there is no back up at the Eden station.
Mr Battersby drove to Cooma to meet with another engineer for a handover of a printed circuit board which he will install at the Eden.
Speaking from Nimmitabel at 11am on Wednesday, Mr Battersby said he expected it to take two to three hours before normal service was restored.
