The cruise ship was carrying more than 2000 passengers, one of whom was Danielle McCartney a visitor from Saint-Jean-Sur-Richelieu, Quebec, Canada.
She had brought with her a package of 18 handmade postcards, decorated with koalas and kangaroos, made by students of Grade 1 and 2 from St John's Elementary School where she works.
When the children learned about what Australia was going through, they wanted to share, send their love and support, wishing for "rainfall in abundance".
Eden Fire and Rescue NSW station commander Zlatko Nemec said the hand-delivered gift was "quite special".
"It was good to see it's the young kids who have put pen to paper and then to organise to have it hand delivered. We're all rather pleased.
"They'll be going up on the station wall for everyone to see."
The Eden FRNSW crew gave Mr and Mrs McCartney a tour of the station where they handed over the cards.
During the tour, the crew in the station managed to put together a large collection of goodies to be delivered back to the students of St John's Elementary School.
