128 players turned out to compete.
The course was magnificent and play flowed smoothly despite the large numbers. The day managed to raise more than $2200 for the Bega Red Cross. The winning team streeted the field and I am sure the handicappers will need to look at their handicaps before the next event.
It was great to see the community spirit with which this event was received and all participants, regardless of their scores enjoyed themselves.
The importance of shopping locally and supporting each other was emphasised by Lynda Jolly who did a great job with the presentations.
In other results this week the Ladies scores were impressive. Jane Burgess (27) won on Thursday with a score of 37. Kim Helmers (23) was runner up with 36 to follow up her win earlier in the week. Vesper McCann also had a fine score on Tuesday.
In Mens Results: Wednesday 15th A Grade was won again by Michael Potter who seems to be making a habit of this. He scored 40 points playing off 10. B Grade: J. Buckmaster (18) 38pts, R. Crewe (7) 41pts, B grade: B. Smith (16) 44 pts, C Grade: A. Crowe (19) 43pts and D Grade D. Hobill (25) 37pts.
"With Australia Day looming next weekend it would be great to see a big turnout for the Four clubs and a Putter event," a spokeswoman for the club said. "It's always a good way to show that all those clubs we haul around every week are not necessary."
