Pauline Spicer of Merimbula was brought to tears - happy ones - on Monday when she discovered she was the winner of a new car.

Pauline's name was drawn from a barrel with an overwhelming number of entries in the Bega Valley Buy Local campaign that had 54 supporting businesses from Bega to Eden.
She will take home a new Kia Picanto worth $16,000.

In particular, Tarra Motors, who donated the car. Director John Stylianou said Tarra was very excited to be part of this promotion and see the benefits it had for the whole community.
Club Sapphire Merimbula was also a major sponsor this year, with CEO Damien Foley saying it was "a fantastic promotion for the whole area, and great to see so many businesses getting behind it".
"I think the camaraderie and the promotional benefit of everyone getting together and shopping locally...has been terrific."
Bega Chamber of Commerce president John Watkin reiterated those comments.
"The more people who stay in the Valley to shop, the better for the whole community," Mr Watkin said.
"The more we shop locally, the more jobs there are for locals and the Bega Chamber was proud to be part of this."
