Among Australia's finest jazz artists, Evans from Sydney and Melbourne-based Keller have achieved national and international recognition for their excellence as performers, composers and leaders.
They are important tertiary educators, pioneering women in jazz and mentors for younger female jazz musicians.
Evans has been described as one of the best contemporary jazz composers/musicians anywhere.
She is a foundational figure in Australian jazz, leading a number of ground-breaking bands since the early 1980s and for many years exploring Indian classical music from her jazz perspective.
Keller has established and composed for a diverse range of influential ensembles, drawing on a deep love for, and knowledge of, classical music.
Her jazz is a powerful blend of European lyricism with space and improvisation.
At the Zephyrs concert, Evans will perform with her trio and Indian tabla virtuoso Bobby Singh while Keller will also perform with her trio and they will play together as a duo.
The two are admirers of each other's music and while playing very different styles of jazz, they complement each other as composers and performers.
Again Zephyrs, in partnership with Four Winds, brings the highest quality of jazz musicianship to the Far South Coast, so come and celebrate women and jazz.
Women do Jazz will take place at Four Winds' Windsong Pavilion at Four Winds Rd, Barragga Bay on Sunday, October 20 from 2pm.
Tickets are $55 and can be bought by clicking here.
