The unit said a lack of rain across the South East and fires already burning in NSW were signs to prepare.
On September 7-8, a bushfire south of Cobargo burnt a shed used as living quarters and more than 100 hectares.
Several bushfires continue to burn out of control, on September 9, across northern NSW.
"Planning to make a plan isn't a plan," a Moruya RFS spokesperson said.
"With the current fires in the north of the state and the dire need for much needed rain in our own part of the state, now is the time to ensure you have a plan for when you need to enact it.
"There will never be enough trucks for each house."
RFS said you can download a free bushfire survival plan from the NSW RFS website or message the Moruya RFS Facebook page to get a free plan pack.
"Don't leave it until it's too late. Talk to your family and know what you will do in the event of a bushfire. It may just save your life," the spokesperson said.
The NSW RFS website said getting ready for a bushfire was easier than you think.
"By taking 20 minutes with your family to discuss what you'll do during a fire, you could save their lives, as well as your home," the website said.
The four steps to get ready for a bushfire included:
- Discuss what to do if a bushfire threatens your home
- Prepare your home and get it ready for bus fire season
- Know the bushfire alert levels
- Keep all the bushfire information numbers, websites and the smartphone app.
Stay up-to-date with fires and set up watch zones to alert you to new fires with the Fires Near Me app.
