The Merimbula Public School P&C hosted a trivia night at Club Sapphire on the weekend with the theme of "Op Shop Chic". Despite their questionable tastes in clothing, the room full of trivia buffs were able to raise about $7000 for the school.
There were prizes for the best dressed as well as the thriftiest, who had to provide a receipt proving their outfit's minimal budget.
One of the organisers Morgan Eneberg said they received incredible support from the community, not just teachers and school parents, as well as plenty of donations from local businesses.
While there is nothing specific planned for the funds raised, Ms Eneberg said the P&C would approach the school principal to see what was on the "wish list" for the children.
She also thanked her fellow organisers Katrina Newlyn, Karen Denaro, Beck Smith and Ross Mannell.
