In one of the most anticipated ends to a season in more than a decade, the Bulldogs surged to a 36-20 win over the Bay Tigers to lock in third place on the competition table.
The club leap-frogged the Bombala Blue Heelers, who went down in a dramatic 54-22 result against the Tathra Sea Eagles that saw the Maroons clinch second place on the table behind Bega.
Jake Mikula starred for the Bulldogs with his boot hitting the ball firm and true to kick six conversions from as many attempts on the day despite a fluttering wind.
The Tigers got the jump early when Anthony Smith scored early and were throwing their full force at the Bulldogs as a last hurrah for the club this season.
Liam Beazley hit back for the Bulldogs, but tries to Jack Francis and Tom Bollard had the Tigers purring with a 16-6 lead midway through the first half.
However, the home side let the Bulldogs back into the game with a series of errors, and Grant Moon took full advantage with a barnstorming try on the half-hour mark.
Two more tries to Jack McGuire and Jake Mikula handed the Bulldogs a 24-16 lead at the break.
The Tigers kept the match tight in the second half, but a lack of composure with the footy doomed them to a 36-20 loss. Luke Barnicott scored the Tigers' second-half try.
The Candelo-Bemboka Pink Panthers suffered an 18-6 loss to the Bay ladies to cap off their season.
Candelo-Bemboka briefly took a 6-4 lead midway through the first half, but Georgia Laverack's try wrestled back momentum for the home side.
Isabella Anastasi capped the win with a length-of-the-field try for a double.
The reserves had a bye and finished a week earlier.
The Eden Tigers clinched the last of the first grade finals berths finishing fifth with what Mr Wilton said was a timely win over the Narooma Devils in Eden on Sunday.
The Moruya Sharks were knocked out of contention when they fell by two points to the minor premier Bega Roosters - who came from behind to win at Act Weyman Oval.
Group 16 chairman Allan Wilton said it was an exciting finish to the year with critical games still to come.
Mr Wilton said a clash with the Bulldogs in Tathra this Sunday will be the Sea Eagles' first finals appearance in eight years and the clubs have established a wonderful rivalry this year.
The result will also determine which club faces the Bega Roosters for the maiden grand final tickets the following weekend.
