The young gun secured a clean sweep at the Orica Hunter Junior Tour at the end of July, taking out wins in all three events - the individual time trial, criterium and road race to secure the Yellow Jersey for Merimbula.
With no local road-cycling club, Hayden rides as a member of the Canberra Cycling Club and returned to the Hunter over the weekend to compete in the NSW State Junior Road Championships.
He was able to take part, but could not count for the medals due to his ACT membership - but still competed across all three state title races - winning both the criterium and time trial for under 13s.
Earlier he had also contested the NSW Country Road Race Championships where again he was unable to secure any medals, but secured first place all the same and backed it up the following day with a win in the Southern Cross Open Criterium.
The family has been kept busy with a visit to the Junior Tour of Sydney as well, while Hayden now turns his attention to the velodrome with the road racing season coming to a close.
His family said the Far South Coast provides a great base for cyclists, but unfortunately lacked some infrastructure for road racers.
Hayden will train in the velodrome at Canberra.
