The winter season has truly arrived in the South East, with snow spotted past Brown Mountain as The Royal Arms in Nimmitabel shared a video on its social media page of snow falling on Friday, July 12.
According to Weatherzone, in Bega the weather reached a low of 1.9 degrees Celsius before 9am on Sunday, July 14 while on Saturday, July 13 it only reached a high of 15.3 degrees, but the town's coldest day of the month so far was on July 1, where it got down to .4 degrees Celsius.
Saturday and Sunday were both windy nights, with speeds reaching 46km/h.
Merimbula, where the weather data for Eden is also recorded, reached a low for the month of 1.9 degrees Celsius on July 1 as well.
Over the weekend the lowest temperature felt in the town was 3 degrees Celsius before 9am on Friday and on Saturday it only reached 15.4 degrees.
The highest wind speeds of the weekend hit the town on Monday, with 37km/h being reported.
It was slightly cooler in Bombala, with the lowest temperature .2 degrees Celsius before 9am on Sunday morning and temperatures only reaching a max of nine degrees on both weekend days.
The coldest day for the town for the month was on July 1, where there was a shivering -6.4 degrees.
There were also high winds reported in the town, with a 56km/h south westerly reported at 9am on Monday.
For this coming week, Weatherzone has predicted frost and a low of 1 degree Celsius in Bega on Wednesday then a low of -1 degree and frost on Saturday before temperatures reach a week-long high of 21 degrees on Sunday.
In Merimbula, there will be a low of 4 degrees Celsius on Wednesday, 2 degrees on Saturday and four degrees on Sunday with Sunday also getting to a week-long high of 20 degrees.
In Bombala, Wednesday and Sunday will reach a low of 0 degrees Celsius, Saturday will go down to -3 degrees, but there will be a week-long high of 12 degrees across the weekend.
