After a solid win over the Eden Whalers on the weekend, the Pambula seniors are now level-pegging with the Tathra Sea Eagles just four competition points shy of the competition-leading Merimbula Diggers.
The Panthers carded a 13-17-95 to 1-5-11 result over the Whalers with the Panthers back line constraining the Whalers to just a solitary behind in both the first and second quarters of play.
Meanwhile, the Pambula club used it's speed and long range kicking options to pile on six goals in the second quarter to lead by 54 points at the main break.
The Whalers fought back into play in the third quarter, but had run out of steam by the last period again reduced to a single behind.
Pambula had been slowed on their goal kicking though, restricted by the Eden defence to just three in the final quarter.
The Panthers will take on the Narooma Lions this weekend and will remain ahead of the Lions on the leaderboard no matter the result.
But a win over the Lions could see the club jumping up if Tathra go down to the Merimbula Diggers in their clash.
It's a stark contrast from the club's reserve grade side, which has slumped to the bottom of the ladder, suffering a two-point loss to the Moruya-Broulee Giants last weekend.
The Pambula ladies are fourth place on the women's ladder with Narooma leading the charge ahead of Tathra and Bermagui.
Just four rounds remain in the regular competition.
