These funds will all be donated to the Westpac 2019 Drovers Run 4WD outback adventure she will undertake together with her sister Judith. Recent strong winds have thwarted offshore game fishers along the coast and caused a real setback to the weekend's Canberra GFC Tuna Tournament out of Bermagui.

For ocean flathead, both tiger and sand, try off Bournda Island. Try also near White Rock and Kianinny and north to Baronda Headland. Best depth seems to be at 15-17 fathoms off Tura Headland and Baronda. Reef fishing has become a little more difficult with strong inshore currents continuing off Merimbula. For snapper and morwong it is probably best to anchor and berley. Try a down dropper rig with a pilchard on snelled hooks floating away from the sinker. When out of the current best results come from a floating rig and no sinker.

With the moon full gummy sharks are very active, best technique is to anchor and berley beside the reef areas. Good size fish can be taken from Bithrys north of Tathra to Horseshoe off Merimbula. Good tailor and salmon are also schooling off the beaches; Aslings at Eden and Haycock and Tura in particular.

At Pambula trevally remain on the chew near the shark hole. Soft plastics and prawns are both effective. At Merimbula there are tailor in the back lake plus reasonable size bream and snapper deeper down, prawns, pilchards and soft plastics are all useful.

Fish are gathering about the Mogareeka area closer to the ocean now that the Bega River is closed. Try the wall up river from the launching ramp and out from the launching ramp for bream and the occassional dusky flathead. Using soft plastics; small tailor, a few bream and dusky flathead can also be found further up river where the water is a little warmer.

The club will be closed this Friday, June 28. The council has permitted a number of food trucks to use Spencer Park during the evening. A large crowd is possible, some likely drinking alcohol and the club's committee has decided the correct response is for the club to close. Our doors will be open again on Friday, July 5.
