By virtue of its superior ladder position over semi-final opponent Bega/Angledale, the Knights claimed their spot in the decider after Saturday's washout draw.
Given they also placed higher on the season ladder than the winner of the weekend's other semi, Eden, the Knights also earned hosting rights.
Charles Aggenbach said Merimbula was ecstatic to be hosting the grand final and predicted a tight game.
"We've played Eden twice this season and we're one apiece, so this will be the deciding rubber," he said.
"Hopefully the weather holds off this week though as Berrambool will need a bit of sun on it before the council can get in and mow the field."
Tathra enjoyed the best of the weather on the weekend, but unfortunately not the result it would've wished.
The Far South Coast Cricket Association's top-placed team this season fell to fourth-placed Eden in a reduced-overs match.
Batting first, Eden made the best of the soggy conditions, reaching 8/162 off its 27 overs. In reply, the Sea Eagles could only manage 93 after a wet-weather onslaught by Eden's Tyrone Thomas.
The strike bowler claimed five scalps for only 20 runs off his six overs. One of those wickets was opener and the recently crowned FSCCA best bowler Pete Bennett, out for a duck.
Adam Blacka scored 11 before also falling to Thomas's bowling, with the Sea Eagles best represented by Quinn Fletcher-Barrie and Jakome Roberts-Charlton, 22 and 29 respectively.
For Eden, Andrew Evelyn top scored with 36, followed by Matthew Bell on 35 and Thomas on 30.
Aggenbach said the Tathra-Eden game was one of the best he had watched this season - many of the Knights joined the crowd after their own game was called off.
He said the standard of cricket this season was really pleasing and a positive step towards a full A grade competition once more.
"Any of these clubs could win on the day - the standard hasn't been like that for a few years," he said.
The challenge for the title among the lower four teams was also at the mercy of the weekend's rain, Pambula, which won through via a washout, will play Bermagui, which had a convincing win over South Eurobodalla.
Able to complete the full 40 overs each, Bermagui finished with 5/213 before bowling the Pirates out for 124 in the 33rd over.
Meanwhile, the women's rep game between the Far South Coast Storm and ACT Invitational was shifted to Tathra on Sunday to take advantage of the better conditions.
A tidy effort in the field and with ball in hand by the hosts proved a bit too strong for the ACT visitors.
Batting first, the Storm managed 9-231 from their 40 overs, Jade Allen top scoring with 48 with Rachael Kincaid close behind on 42. In reply, ACT was held to 7/159.
FSCCA premier division grand finals will be played on Saturday, March 23, at Berrambool Oval and Pambula Beach Sports Ground, both from 1pm.
The women's competition grand final is on Sunday at Lawrence Park, Tathra, from 10.30am.
