Tahj attended the first tradie afternoon in November, winning the longest drive on that occasion, and no doubt would have been a certain starter on Friday as he is a very keen player just getting back to the game after a couple of years absence.
A final figure is not to hand at time of print but with considerable help from PMGC a figure over $2000 will be possible. Thanks to all involved that is what community spirit is all about.
On Saturday 134 players had booked in but only 55 braved a shower or two with the grand total of six players returning a card over the 18-hole journey.
Greg Motbey from the Bega Club returned the best score (39 points) with the mighty Mick Mamone not far behind to lead the other grade.
Wednesday saw the biggest field (184) for the year and nobody had more than 40 points with the happy chappy Ray Walter defeating Peter Moore and Harry Petersen on a countback for the score of the day and the A grade award along the way.
Brian Smith (38) led home the B graders, nice return to form Brian good to see. Doug Townsin showed how it is done grabbing the C grade loot with a fine 39 points and as previously mentioned Peter Moore rattled up 40 points to clearly win the D grade division.
The first player on the course, Bernard Keating, held the Sails Real Estate golden shot from whoa to go collecting $254 for a beauty to only 63cm on the tricky 6th hole.
Last but certainly not least the score of the week at PMGC was recorded by Wendy Fleming with a marvellous plus 5 in Thursday's regular ladies comp; great score Wendy.
Jill Ricardo (35) and Marie McEnallay (34), a visitor from the Cromer Club, took home the major awards on Tuesday.
Hot off the press: The Division 2 team had no success in the semi-final at Narooma with the Bermagui lads too steady on the day. Good effort boys you did the club proud achieving what you did. A special mention to new golfer Ben Bell. Ben reckoned he wasn't good enough to play pennant, a 4/1 record dispels that theory Ben. It would be great to have more younger lads make themselves available next year and follow Ben's lead.
Sunday at 4pm the second nine and dine social event will be held. All will be made welcome, members and visitors alike.
