A selection of the country’s best Super Sedan drivers will be making their way to the 520-metre track in the quest for state title glory, including defending champion Mat Pascoe, who claimed last season’s NSW Title at Dubbo’s Morris Park Speedway ahead of Darren Kane and current National Champion Jarrod Harper.

And Pascoe, the Ipswich-based racer is aiming for nothing less than back-to-back victories.

Sapphire Speedway president Daryl Moon is looking very forward to opening the track’s gates for the NSW Title next month, expecting a strong turnout from competitors and spectators alike.

“Bega is such a beautiful part of NSW, and our club is excited about hosting the NSW Title for Super Sedans for the first time,” enthused Moon, who will be contesting the NSW Title armed with a two-car team alongside his son Tyson.

“We’re expecting a strong car count, which is going to feature some of the class’s heavy-hitters. The NSW Title is shaping up to be an event worth watching. Nominations are still open, so we encourage local and interstate drivers to bolster what is going to be a great event by getting their nominations in.”

With practice taking place on the Friday night, Saturday night’s NSW Super Sedan Title format will see drivers contest three rounds of qualifying heat races, followed by a B main (if applicable) and the 35-lap NSW Title-deciding feature race.

Nominations for the NSW Title will close on the Friday of February 22.
