In a very tight contest that saw seven players within a couple of shots of each other, two players headed the pack with nett 69's that required a count-back to sort out the overall winner.
On this occasion Ian Scott in C grade, who played his best golf for a long time, prevailed and took the title from Minh Nguyen in A grade.
Nguyen still ruing some of those missed putts that could have made a major difference has decided to spend more time on practicing his putting.
Next best on the day with a stellar effort being just a shot short were Simon Thompson and Chook Hall in B grade both carding nett 70's.
Then just two shots off the pace with nett 71s were A graders Rob Staite and Chris Morgan and C grader Peter Hamer.
The nearest the pins went to J Wheeler on hole 3, I Culliver on 5, M Coulter on 9, R Firth on 13 and J Mawby on 17.
Tuesday was a stableford event off the White Course.
The honours on the day were shared between A grader Lee Patrick and C grader Jordan Humphreys.
The duo both returned excellent scorecards of 41 points.
Next best was C grader Phil Rowney with 40 points just ahead of Mike Warren in B grade with 39 points and A grader Chris Morgan and B grader Tony Gamble both with 38 points.
