Kindergarten teacher Natalie Randanovich said the class has been great, on day one pupils explored the school.
“After reading a book called where is the green sheep, we then went for a hunt for other coloured sheep I had placed around the school,” she said.
“It was a great way for them to get to know the different places around the school,” she said.
Ms Randanovich said her goal for the year is to ensure each pupil gains confidence and is comfortable.
“I want to make sure they are all settled and happy in this environment, then to set goals for them to learn to read and write,” she said.
At Pambula Public School, kindergarten teachers Ben Grant and Josh Mawby were excited to see success with all 42 children happily socialising by day two, February 5.
“It is the first time having students work in small groups, it has been terrific and will help us keep track of each student’s progress,” Mr Grant said.
Both Mr Grant and Mr Mawby are co-teaching classes, they have been focussed on encouraging camaraderie and helping kinders become settled into routine.
“We are looking forward to a years worth of learning, it is important that we learn each child’s strengths and weaknesses to set realistic goals and get them as far as they can with their numeracy and literacy,” Mr Grant said.
