The Pambula seven-year-old spent last week swimming laps each day at Pambula’s aquatic centre to raise money to buy a Street Swag. Each swag costs $99, so Isaac rallied round his relatives to sponsor him to swim 99 laps.
He completed the challenge on Saturday – actually completing 100 laps in the end – with mum dad and sister Misty, 9, in the pool to cheer him on.
“When we were on holiday in Alice Springs I saw a man sitting on a jumper. He didn’t have a home and he had some coins on his jumper.
“I asked mum if I could please give him some money and I gave him $5 of my pocket money.”
On the same trip, they also saw a TV ad for Street Swags and the seed of an idea was planted.
Isaac is stoked his hard work means a homeless person somewhere will now have a comfortable and safe place to sleep – and he's already planning to do the same next year.
Isaac has also said that when he grows up he wants to work with homeless people.
