This is the third year that the village had held its Christmas event but this year in addition to offering late night shopping from 5-8pm, there will be free kids activities including a jumping castle and free face painting as well as a visit by Santa who will arrive on the vintage fire truck at 6pm.
There is even the promise of bags of lollies and the opportunity of a selfie with Santa.
Chamber president Michelle Pettigrove said that the event was growing each year.
“Almost all the shops will be open on the night and most will be offering special deals, door prizes and incentives and all food businesses will be open,” Ms Pettigrove said.
As well as restaurants and cafes open there will be three food vans and a sausage sizzle happening on the night to accommodate all food tastes.
“This is not a late night shopping event but a Christmas event. As well as the free activities for kids we will have many local buskers playing and a pavement artist who will be doing portraits in charcoal,” Ms Pettigrove said.
Special traffic arrangements will be in place for the duration of the Christmas event. Toallo Street, Pambula will be closed between Merimbola Street and the roundabout. There will be no access through that part of Toallo Street although cars will be able to park in the closed section, Ms Pettigrove explained.
Also traffic travelling through Quondola Street, Pambula will be subject to traffic control measures and there will be a temporary pedestrian crossing in place.
