The Knights were able to take down the Bega-Angledale Bulls at Berrambool, while an understrength Tathra outfit went down to Bermagui giving the Merimbula club breathing room atop the ladder.
The Knights were able to post a strong total of 6/218 despite the Bulls working hard early in the encounter in an attempt to upset the Merimbula batting order.
Prolific opener Brendan Daley was up to his usual tricks for the Knights and eventually built to a winning score, but the Bulls were able to apply some good pressure in the field to lock in early wickets.
Tom Kellar was dismissed for 23, caught and bowled by Hamish Wilcox after knocking a high ball straight up the pitch.
Then just three runs later, Nick Fantham was clean bowled for a single.
However, Merimbula captain Postance joined Daley at the crease and the pair built to an 80-run partnership.
Daley was finally sent back to the sheds on 87 runs with good bowling by Alexander Eadie, while Postance held the crease to build to 64-not-out as Merimbula locked in a 6-218 result.
Bega’s reply came close, but was a bit too scattered to shake the ladder leader with 20s and 30s contrasted against a pair of eights and other sub-10 scorelines.
Cody Hazelgrove Danvers and Braiden McIntosh were the best with 31 and 30 respectively as Bega finished all-out for 185.
Meanwhile, The Pambula Bluedogs continued a good run of form, putting more than 300 runs on the board in a cruisy victory over Kameruka.
Out to impress their home supporters, Tom Hammond stood up in a big way for the Pambula club, knocking 107 runs as the club drove home an impressive 4/305.
Sean Smith opened for a half century before being dismissed lbw on 50, but Brendon Reynolds also neared the half-ton with 47 before he was caught.
After a comfortable session with the bat, the Bluedogs then set about firing up the bowling attack – which they managed as Kameruka fell swiftly to finish all-out for just 70 runs.
Kameruka opener Roland Jones-Whittem was caught for a duck by Shanmukha Penukonda.
Alap Patel fared a little better, making a dozen before he was returned to the sheds by a Josh Mawby catch.
David Schumann had the best for the Black Cockatoos, knocking 20 runs before being stumped by Josh Hammond.
Eight wickets fell for less than 10 runs each as the Bluedogs compounded their earlier batting to clinch the result easily.
Reynolds was the best with the ball, taking three wickets, while Penukonda claimed two.
Saturday the Knights will host the Bluedogs at the Berrambool Oval from 1pm.
