Directors, staff, shareholders and customers heard how the disappearance of the big banks offices in the town brought the community together. Over $850,000 was raised from local shareholders to start the bank which has gone from strength to strength.
During the 10 years more than $600,000 has been returned to the community in the form of grants to community organisations.
As part of the celebrations president of the Pambula Surf Life Saving Club Stephen Hodgson received a pledge from the bank for $30,000 over the next three years. Another recipient on the night was Ron Finneran whose youth sports and arts development program will receive $12,000 over four years. Over 130 groups have benefited from the bank’s sponsorship.
