FOGO big success

Updated November 13 2018 - 3:39pm, first published 3:38pm

Two weeks into FOGO, around 200 tonnes of organic waste has been diverted away from landfill. “Contamination has been negligible and it’s as good as I could’ve hoped,” council FOGO coordinator Joley Vidau said. The biggest concern continues to be families using nappies worried about the new fortnightly collection. Ms Vidau said an option could be to upsize the red bin to a 240L version. Contact the council on 6499 2222 for information.
