The service started with an address by Phil Hall of Merimbula RSL Sub-branch followed by prayers recited by Jenny Crawford of the Sapphire Coast Anglican Parish.
Piper John Cross and sergeant Warren Davis of the 7th Light Horse Bemboka Troop said some memorable words and shared history.
Bega Valley Shire Councillor Robyn Bain read a tribute to our unknown soldiers. She carried her grandfathers book which he had used to document his time at war 100 years ago.
“In his book 100 years ago he wrote the war had stopped at 3.30pm,” Cr Bain said.
The Last Post sounded and everyone paid their respects in silence. The flag was raised before a number of wreaths were laid followed by the national anthems sung by Pambula Public School Choir.
