While they clicked straight away and began a musical connection, their work was done over Skype while she was in Tathra and he was in London, and they did not meet in person until they came together four years later to produce an album for a young artist from Chile.
“What we realised is the power of being able to work in person,” Gibbons said.
“We had a wonderful musical collaboration virtually, but there’s nothing that can replace being with a person, in person; it’s just magic.”
Pleasure was one of the most gifted musical communicators she had ever met.
“When you get to speak that musical language with a dear friend, it’s a really special connection,” she said.
“We’ve become big supporters of each other as well as family friends; we’re family.”
Gibbons herself has lived a fascinating life, spending 14 years in Singapore and running a team building company where she has drawn on the power of music using singing to build harmony among teams.
The wonderful thing about music is it’s a common language, it exists everywhere.

She has worked for many different corporations across four continents, and said her work deepened her appreciation of music being something that was for everyone.
“The wonderful thing about music is it’s a common language, it exists everywhere,” she said.
“Some of the music I’ve composed has been in several different languages.”
For instance, one of her songs has been written in English, Cantonese and French and she said it was exciting to sing in the different languages.
“I have to say I am enjoying my life,” Gibbons said.
“It’s great as a professional musician to find ways to share your passion.”
While in the Bega Valley the duo has been performing their own compositions, as Gibbons will making a new album next year and Pleasure’s next record will come out soon. They will also be performing a tribute to artists such as The Carpenters, Michael Jackson, Roberta Flack, The Bee Gees and Ray Charles. They will perform at the Bega Valley Commemorative Civic Centre, Bega on Friday, October 5 at 4.30pm. Tickets are $10. Their Pambula show has sold out.
