The money has been given to the Lions Foundation, the company said “because every cent goes to the intended recipients”.
Barbara Hanley of the Pambula Community Bank presented Gordon Matthews, Lions District Governor - South East Region, with the cheque.
Ms Hanley said it was great to make a donation for $10,000 in the bank’s tenth year of operating in Pambula. “That’s $1000 for each of the years,” Mr Matthews said when accepting the cheque.
“The Australian Lions Foundation is very pleased to be the drought relief fund chosen by the Pambula and Bega Community Bank Group. Every single dollar of this generous donation will end up in the hands of those who need it most - farmers and their communities doing it tough,” he added.
Mr Matthews thanked the bank and community members who support the banks.
“Without them I know that this donation would not be possible,” he said.
