The Sapphire Coast Concert Band and Jazz Band performed a special concert on Sunday, September 2 at Club Sapphire with the concert band offering a variety of music related to some particular male heroes - including James Bond, Rocky Balboa, and General George Patton, in honour of all the special fathers and grandfathers as it was Father’s Day.

The Jazz Band included classics from the big band era, modern jazz arrangements, vocals from Candy McVeity and a sax solo from musical director Paul Dion.
Concert Band musical director David Quinlan explained that the Mission Impossible theme, which was the first item on the program, had an underlying (and difficult) 5-4 time which related to the rhythm derived from the morse code for MI.
