Items by the concert band will include music related to some particular male heroes - including James Bond, Rocky Balboa, and General George Patton - in honour of all the special fathers and grandfathers in our community.
Items by the jazz band will include classics from the big band era, modern jazz arrangements and some solo numbers, also chosen to make Father's Day memorable for all the family.
A raffle with some great prizes for dad will also be drawn at the concert.
The Sapphire Coast Concert and Jazz Bands are local community groups, which perform at local events such as Australia Day, ANZAC Day, the Merimbula Jazz Festival and the Eden Whale Festival.
Players in both bands come from all over the Bega Valley area, with ages ranging from teens to 80s. New members are always welcome, and are given guidance and encouragement as necessary.
Tickets for the Father's Day concert are $15 (no concessions) and are available now at Club Sapphire phone 6495 1306. Children under 12 are free when accompanied by an adult.
