Teri Young and Teresa Dixon will be playing at the Nethercote Hall hosted by the Southern Valley Folk Club this Friday, August 17, from 7pm.
The tour celebrates the release of Dixon’s debut solo album, Bass Strait. She sings songs of visceral sadness, careful optimism and the things we do to pull ourselves together and move on. She is a multi-instrumentalist with a style influenced by alternative country and folk traditions.
Young is a writer of social commentary. She has played at all the major Australian folk festivals and won the Alistair Hulett Song Writing Award at this year's National Folk Festival.
The Southern Valley Folk Club meets on the third Sunday of each month at the Rusty Plough in Eden. Local musicians and those who enjoy listening to live music are welcome.
