It started with just one lone woman in red walking across Ford Park, Merimbula; soon there were six, then 10 and numbers grew as they gathered for a celebration of Kate Bush’s iconic song Wuthering Heights.

Organised by Mica Mahani, the day started at Bega, before the group travelled to Tathra where they had the pleasure of seeing a whale and calf quite close in to the shore before coming to Merimbula.
The event is held annually in July in various locations around the Australia and world, where participants recreate the music video for musician Kate Bush's 1978 song Wuthering Heights.
It’s an inclusive event, and anyone and everyone is welcome to adorn themselves in red and join the group.
The event's inspiration was a 2013 event by a group called "Shambush!" held in Brighton, UK which attempted to set a world record for the most number of people dressed as Kate Bush in one place. It has become a symbol for standing in solidarity against violence towards women.
