The Mother’s Day raffle of quilts and scratchies raised a much needed $1,495. The annual Trash and Treasure Sale will be held on Saturday, September 15 at the Bega Showground. For information regarding donation of goods phone John on 0448811517. After a break of two years the Open Garden at Collinswood will be back, bigger and better than ever on November 4.
At the June meeting Charlie Blomfield gave an informative talk on the progress of the Carers Accommodation at the SERH and Hans Weideman spoke on a fundraising event called Ride Sunday that he organised for Can Assist recently.
Hans is a member of CRABS who are Can Assist’s greatest supporters. Without their wonderful donations cancer patients and carers, living in the Bega Valley Shire, would not receive as much assistance.
There will be no meeting or business house cooking day in July. This highlights the need for more members so if there is anyone thinking of joining Can Assist please come along to the meeting on the first Wednesday in August at Club Bega at 7.30pm.
Anyone suffering financial hardship while receiving treatment for cancer please contact the liaison officer on 0439328634.
