Organisers from the turf club said the long weekend provided a unique opportunity to cater to both the local crowds, but also the influx of visitors in the area.
Race promoter Jess Ryan said the club would welcome jazz lovers and even feature a special performance by the “Canberra Swing Katz” at 3.15pm on the day.
It is a family-friendly day with a free jumping castle for the kids and entry for under 18s is free.
Racegoers will enjoy a full TAB seven race card with a good array of runners taking part from the regular trainers.
A field of 71 runners will take the stage on Sunday providing plenty of fun for both punters and casual racegoers.
Ms Ryan said those visiting for the Jazz Festival, Bega Valley Rally or the Tathra MTB Enduro were all invited to join the long weekend celebrations.
There will also be fashions on the field with a black and gold theme for the weekend.
“There are always great prizes on offer and we love seeing everyone dressed up,” Ms Ryan said.
Most of the weekend events will be wrapped up before the racing starts with race one to launch at 12.41pm and the last race will leave the blocks at 4.19pm.
There will be free buses running both to and from the track with pick up and drop off times available at the club’s website www.sapphirecoastturfclub.com.au
The Sapphire Coast Turf Club is located on Sapphire Coast Drive, a short trip from Merimbula or Bega.
